In eastern Angola, fire is essential to both local livelihoods and the region’s biodiverse landscapes but it also brings significant risks.
This video follows a participatory theatre initiative led by the FIREPOL project and the Lisima Foundation across seven rural communities. Drawing on 37 community stories, participants transformed their lived experiences into performances, collective discussions and practical proposals. The process resulted in eight community-based rules that will help shape an integrated fire management plan grounded in local knowledge and designed to protect both livelihoods and the landscape.
